Noon Club Meetings
New in 2012 for the Kiwanis of Troy is the purchase of a concession trailer for our fundraising events. Our Club has been operating out of an old, converted farm flatbed trailer the past 20+ years. This old trailer has served its purposes well but is in dire need of upgrading. So Troy Kiwanis has purchased a brand new mobile concession trailer to operate from for all of our annual events. We will have state of art cooking, refrigeration, storage and cleaning facilities for our members to operate from and provide quality products to raise money for our local scholarships, pre-school reading programs, support of Samaritanís Purse, Bringing up Grades (BUG)program and our International maternal/neonatal tetanus eradication program and all of the other community based projects in which Kiwanis is involved.
Sidney Wheat - a member of the Kiwanis Club of Troy since October 15, 2007, passed away on March 2, 2012. He served many years on the Troy Kiwanis Board of Directors and frequently was found at Dan Synanís side at the Weekly Meeting Luncheon Ticket Desk distributing or collecting lunch tickets.
Sidney will be sadly missed. The club is planning to have a tree planted in a City Park in his honor. Details and location will be posted at a later date.
