On Thursday, March 21, 2013 members of the Kiwanis Club of Troy read to students in the AM and students in the afternoon as part of the Kiwanis International Reading is Fundamental program. Reading Is fundamental (RIF) was founded in 1966, and works to build a literate nation by helping young people discover the joy of reading. RIF is dedicated to motivating young children to read by working with the children, their parents, caregivers and community members to make reading a fun and beneficial part of everyday life. The Kiwanis members presented both books read to take home when the reading was completed. Pictured above is Ron Erwin of the Kiwanis Club of Troy reading to the children.
